Session 5, "An Unusual Background: The Life and Thought of Xi Jinping"
Like so many of his generation, China's President Xi Jinping suffered immensely as a result of the Cultural Revolution. This presentation examines Xi's family life and his family's trying experiences during the Cultural Revolution and the choices that Xi appears to have made in spite of that egregious experience. It outlines how the Marxist worldview has served as a reference point in his approach to leadership and in building what he refers to as the "China Dream."
