It is with a saddened heart over the loss of life, injury and destruction caused by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine; we share our sincere prayers for a quick and sustainable resolution. 

Today, the world as a whole faces many challenges. There are more than 200 nations on this planet, and yet they all strive for a peaceful, united world. Despite this hope, human history has become increasingly marked by conflict and war. Once again we are at this junction, where countless lives of young men and women could be cut short, property destroyed and great amounts of resources expended and the conclusion is more pain, suffering, and great losses with no winners. 

In the words of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the Mother of Peace and the founder of WCLC, “The true owner of the universe and this Earth is our Heavenly Parent. Fallen people, however, do not know about Heavenly Parent, and are claiming the world as their own and building up their national borders.”

As the Bible states, we shall “beat their swords into plowshares, and spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation; neither shall they learn war anymore.” (Isaiah 2:4). Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and her late husband Rev. Sun Myung Moon has dedicated their lives to working tirelessly to bring diverse leaders in politics, academia, religion, science, media, arts and culture together to realize a world of lasting peace. WCLC has been working in helping build bridges, construct roads of relationship for peace between many culturally and theologically diverse Christian faiths. 

This model of reconciliation is at the core of every religion and it is the role of all religious leaders and people of faith to inculcate such resolve to live for the sake of others’ happiness and well being.

We are living in a time like no other where the possibilities for peace are at hand. If all people can understand that God is our Heavenly Parent, under the auspices of True Parents, people can acknowledge each other as brothers and sisters, and nation-states can come together as one unified world. 

Mother Moon, in her recent speech at the World Summit 2022 for Peace on the Korean Peninsula said, “I like daffodils, which are the first flowers to blossom… though they don’t yet have the power, the daffodils will be the first to break through the frozen soil and tell the world that spring has come. Through the daffodils I am observing how to comfort the heart of our Heavenly Parent, who is a witness to human history full of suffering and pain due to the Fall.”

Through the True Parents, let us become like peace daffodils, breaking through the long winter of separation, and become the true children of our Heavenly Parent and, together as filial sons and daughters, make God’s dream and wish come true on earth.
